The Quietness Revolution: transtec Fanless PCs
The transtec SENYO 710 Fanless PC sets new standards in quietness, environmental protection and dust-free operation.Tübingen, 14 September, 2007 – transtec, the Tübingen-based manufacturer of custom-tailored hardware, will soon start shipping its SENYO 710 Fanless PC, one of the highest-performance fanless PCs on the market. Nearly noiseless, it saves power and significantly reduces thereby the CO2-Emission caused by the production of electric energy, compared to other PCs in its class.
Thanks to completely passive cooling, the new transtec SENYO 710 Fanless PC transtec makes whisper-quiet operation a reality: With a noise level of a mere one-tenth of a sone, it is about as loud as the sound of rustling leaves. To achieve this, heat produced by the processor, chipset and power supply is conducted to the ambient via cooling ribs located on the sides of the case. Its ultra-quiet operation makes the SENYO 710 Fanless PC predestined for use in noise-sensitive environments such as sound broadcast studios. The fanless construction also has the benefit that the PC neither emits dust nor is dust sucked into its case by fans, making it ideal for use in medical practices and cleanrooms.

In standby, the power consumption of the transtec SENYO 710 Fanless PC is an almost negligible 2.4 Watt and under full load only 48 Watt – about the same as that of the average light bulb. The low power consumption reduces thereby the operational CO2 Emission by half compared to older computers. To produce 84.48 kWh, the electric energy needed for an one year 8 hours a day operating PC, 53.22 kg of CO2 is emitted.* The average human emits 350 kg of CO2 per year.
The transtec SENYO 710 Fanless PC will start shipping in mid-September.
