transtec gains a full ten percent

Restructuring of the business divisions, the mature product portfolio and the clear separation of the channels of distribution are reaping success.

Tübingen, 27.03.07 – transtec, the German manufacturer of customised hardware and IT solutions, reported its results for fiscal year 2006 today in Stuttgart. With a growth in turnover of 10.8 percent to 68.1 million euros and an EBIT of 0.8 million euros the company has improved its profit and turnover and successfully positioned itself on the market for the second year in a row.

For the first time transtec’s reseller business made a perceptible contribution to the turnover. This was rendered possible by the purchase of established specialised trade brand Lynx, which is distributed via selected dealers. In future, the clear separation of the indirect channel of distribution from transtec’s traditional direct distribution will simplify the company’s targeted address of customer groups. Business on the German market, where transtec achieved 51.9 percent of turnover, developed particularly well.

transtec sees the major growth and success potential in complex IT solutions and wants to further extend the company’s in-house Competence Center in the coming year. A significant increase has already been achieved here in 2006. “Our know-how in high-performance clustering and virtualisation puts us eye to eye with all renowned and major companies in the segment”, of that transtec CEO Ertu Uysal is certain.

The New Year got off to a very successful start. Thanks to a very high order volume at the end of 2006, transtec began 2007 with a good order balance. Best prerequisites for the planned further growth in turnover and a strongly increasing pre-tax result. CFO Axel Queck: “We are very confident that we can continue to improve our market position in the coming months.“

In 2006 transtec’s average annual workforce slightly increased to162, from 153 in 2005, with the company also training 29 young people as IT system traders, wholesale and export salesmen, computer scientists in system integration and specialists in warehouse logistics. In future too, the Tuebingen-based hardware expert will continue to act as trainer and involve itself in its employees’ further training, both internally and externally.
