transtec Graphics Workstation now with dual power

Dual-core processors and two graphics cards in tandem contribute to the outstanding performance of the new transtec Graphics Workstation

Tübingen, 27 July, 2006
transtec AG, the German provider of custom-tailored hardware solutions, has launched an updated version of its Graphics Workstation based on Intel® Core™ 2 Duo (Conroe) processors. These brand-new Intel desktop CPUs offer a 40-percent performance boost and more than a 30-percent lower power con-sumption over their Pentium D predecessors.* The new transtec Graphics Workstation owes it outstanding graphics performance to the use of nVIDIA SLI (Scalable Link Interface) technology, which allows multiple graphic cards to be operated in tandem, in the case of the Graphics Workstation two PCI cards are employed. The nearly doubled graphics performance (the actual performance gain varies from application to application) and the additional CPU power pro-vided by Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processors makes the transtec Graph-ics Workstation ideally suited for graphics- and CPU-intensive applications such as 3D simulation and modelling.

The transtec Graphics Workstation supports up to 8 GB system RAM. It is available with a variety of configuration options that permit it to be adapted to specific customer needs, for example,
  • Choice of Serial ATA or SCSI hard drives
  • Hot-swappable 4-drive inserts
  • Optionally available with RAID controller
Dual-core power for transtec notebooks and mini PCs coming soon
At the end of August transtec LEVIO 210 and 550 notebooks will begin shipping with Intel® Core™ 2 Duo mobile (Merom) processors. Customers can expect performance increases more than 20-percent over current models.
