transtec to show off its high-end solutions at the CeBIT 2006

Visitors can see transtec’s powerful high-performance clustering solutions in action

Tübingen, 21 February, 2006.
transtec AG, headquartered in Tübingen, Germany, is a leading provider of custom-tailored IT solutions. Its exhibition at CeBIT 2006 will focus on solutions provided by its Competence Centre, a newly founded business unit, and the presentation of new products, all in the distinctive red-silver transtec design.

transtec will demonstrate a broad range of products at this year’s CeBIT, including servers, storage and backup solutions and PCs workstations and notebooks, as well as high-performance and high-availability clustering and storage systems designed by its Competence Centre. The focus will be on “pooling resources“, “mastering complexity“ and “increasing availability”.

The latest edition of the transtec Magalogue, a catalogue-magazine hybrid, can be picked up free of charge at the transtec stand.

Experts from the transtec Competence Centre specialise in the design, assembly and installation of custom-tailored supercomputing and storage network solutions. They will be present at the CeBIT to share their expertise with visitors and provide information on the latest transtec products. With more than 200 cluster systems already delivered, transtec is one of Europe’s leading providers of high-performance and high-availability computing solutions. transtec clustering and storage solutions are in demand by companies and research institutions that require number-crunching power and the highest availability for their critical applications. transtec is also known for its custom-tailored server solutions, which have achieved a high-degree of popularity with SMBs. One of the highlights of transtec’s CeBIT exhibition is the new economical entry-level CALLEO Server, designed for flexible deployment and lower operating costs.

The main themes of transtec’s CeBIT presentation are:

Pooling resources with:
- High-availability and high-performance cluster systems
- Space-saving 1-U servers

Mastering complexity using:
- transtec’s new CALLEO server line
- Remote management solutions for transtec servers
- Storage virtualization
- Server-based workplace solutions using the new transtec MYLO 500 thin client

Increasing availability with:
- SAN solutions and iSCSI technology
- The transtec PROVIGO line of RAID systems, including the new PROVIGO 410 iSCSI RAID system

Visitors to the transtec stand will be treated to Europe’s first demonstration of the revolutionary solid-state volumetric 3D display developed by LightSpace Technologies. It provides strikingly realistic 3-D images without the need for encumbering stereo glasses.
