ranstec 2600 Dual XEON Server: High Performance at a Low Price
Tuebingen, Germany, 15 June 2000transtec AG, the business to business (B2B) system manufacturer with direct computer sales, is expanding its server portfolio. The new "transtec 2600 Dual XEON Server" is a highly efficient dual processor system for mission-critical applications and databases.
In the case of applications with an extremely high demand of computing power, the high-end system achieves the necessary performance and stability for fast, error-free data processing. The spaciously designed server offers the user ample room for expansion. The "transtec 2600 Dual XEON Server" can thus be equipped with two XEON processors (each with 800 MHz max.). The system supports an FSB of up to 133 MHz and, with the new Ultra160 SCSI technology by Adaptec, is predestined for use as a fast high availability system. The flexible system configuration meets all the requirements of modern, heterogeneous networks.
Special server properties such as wake-on LAN, protection against overheating and voltage detectors for CPUs (chassis intrusion detection and system resource alert) are only some examples of safety features which increase the system's efficiency.
The basic configuration of the "transtec 2600 Dual XEON Server" costs DM 8,400 (EUR 4,294.85) incl. VAT. For that price the user receives a system in a server tower with Intel Pentium III XEON 733 MHz processor, Supermicro S2DM3 board, 256 MB ECC, onboard Ultra160 SCSI, Seagate 9.2 GB hard disk, 48x Atapi CD-ROM, ATI 3D charger 8 MB SDRAM AGP, four 32 bit PCI slots and two 64 bit PCI slots, onboard 10/100BASE-T Fast Ethernet. The server is supplied with Windows NT 4.0 Server (5 CALs pre-installed) and a three year on-site guarantee.
