transtec 1001 Flatrack Server:
The Dual System for Windows and LinuxBanbury/Tübingen, 12th October 2000.
The business-to-business (B2B) system manufacturer transtec is expanding its comprehensive range of servers by introducing for the first time to its sales program a dual-processor flatrack server, the "transtec 1001".
Thanks to the compact flatrack construction (1 HE = height unit), "transtec 1001" can be used even in the smallest of spaces. Its dual-processor flatrack server concept provides the optimum basis for the setup of Web or file servers in rackmount format. High-performance server farms can also be implemented with no problem.
A large number of components have been consistently integrated into the motherboard. The impressive key data of the "transtec 1001" highlight its performance:
· Dual CPU support
· Dual channel Ultra160 SCSI onboard
· Dual 10/100BASE-T Fast Ethernet onboard
· Graphics onboard
· RAM: up to 4 GB ECC
· 2 Hotplug Ultra160 SCSI insert frames
· 250 W power supply unit
Not only can the external Ultra 160 SCSI interface be used to connect external storage solutions, but there is also an extra, free 64-bit PCI slot, which can be expanded with the corresponding RAID controllers. The "transtec 1001" dual-flatrack server can be run either under Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Linux (SuSE and RedHat).
