transtec Windows-Based Terminals:Reduce Cost of Ownership,Increase Safety and Performance

Banbury/Tübingen, 13rd July 2000.
transtec AG, the business- to-business (B2B) system manufacturer with direct sales, is building up a new house brand. The transtec Windows-based terminal - TTCLIENT - is available effective immediately at the company listed on the tier Neuer Markt.

TTCLIENT, based on the JNT/Linux operating system, is suitable for Unix, Linux and Windows 2000. An outstanding feature is both administration and user management via a central server. This is synonymous with a strong reduction in the Cost of Ownership: In comparison with more expensive computer systems TTCLIENT reduces the running costs to a tenth.

A Windows-based terminal has neither drives nor hard disks. Data is also stored centrally and absolutely securely on the server, thus rendering a time-consuming data transfer unnecessary.

The TTCLIENT is equipped with a 200/233 MHz Cyrix processor. The chipset is a Cyrix CX 5530 with integrated graphics, LAN and sound.

The elegant Windows-based terminals, also known as "thin clients", constitute a promising communications system. Furthermore, they are very space-saving (28 cm x 5 cm x 24 cm) and extremely cost-effective. The TTCLIENT is available at a price of DM 1,040 (EUR 531.74) incl. VAT. The keyboard and mouse are already included in the basic configuration.
